The project is a Youth Initiative under the Youth In Action Program which allows young people to think of their own project ideas and put them into practice.  Equality in Fashion is a project to help young people who identify as LGBT to learn skills in clothes making with an emphasis to challenge stereotyping.

An emphasis on the project was for young people who identify as trans to learn how to create and alter clothes so they become made to measure, as clothes you might find in the store have been designed to fit element of the gender affirmation process where transsexuals who are in the transitioning process can find it stressful and difficult when choosing clothes in their affirmed gender.

This project is for any young person aged 14-25 who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans or those interested in combatting discrimination and stereotyping placed against LGBT people. There is no charge to young people for people involved in this project.

Just turn up on Wednesday evenings between 6.30pm and 9.00pm.
