AFTER 12 amazing years, the UK’s most successful folk band Bellowhead are calling it a day – but not before announcing an emotional farewell tour!
Their final dates including a date at St David’s Hall on Sunday 17 April 2016 will be highly anticipated – so hurry to get your tickets booked (Friday 12 June) from 9am!
Since forming just for fun in 2004, Bellowhead could never have imagined that one day they would be headlining festivals and selling out tours. From their first self-released EP, they have gone on to record five studio albums of which they have sold over 250,000 copies. Plus, their third album Hedonism was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios and went on to become the highest selling independently released folk album of all time!
Furthermore, they are proud recipients of a staggering eight BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, two Silver Discs and have recorded theme tunes for The Archers andThe Simpsons at the request of the producers! They even brewed their own beer twice!
The eleven-piece band produce a joyous cacophony of noise onstage mixing traditional folk songs with dance tunes and shanties using more than 20 instruments and with all members providing vocals.
Earlier this month Bellowhead announced via their website that they were disbanding following the imminent departure of lead singer Jon Boden. But now the group is set to bow out in style with a euphoric celebration of their music with the That’s All Folks tour.
Experience this big party juggernaut one last time at St David’s Hall!
Tickets are on sale at 9am on Friday 12 June priced £19.50, £21.50 and £24.50 (plus a £2.95 ticket service charge per transaction).
