Are you aged between 16 and 25 and passionate about arts in Wales?
RawFfest GŵylGrai is offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a new youth arts festival.
It's vital that young people living in Wales have a voice about what RawFfest GŵylGrai should represent and offer.
This summer RawFfest GŵylGrai will take place in Newport from the 18th to 21st August 2016 with future festivals in a different location across Wales each year.
We have a few experience jobs going such as:
- Curating the festival (that is, looking for exciting youth arts work in Wales)
- The marketing group (How we make sure everyone knows about the festival, helping to blog or tweet or Instagram or keep Facebook up to date)
- The business side (looking at budgets, thinking how to fundraise, doing administrative jobs)
- Event management (learning about stage management, health & safety, logistics etc.)
- Or if you are based in or near to Newport you can be a part of a group that makes sure Newport's unique personality is stamped on the festival

Deadline = 6pm Friday 4th March 2016
We will let you know if you have been successful by 11th March. You don't have to be an elite artist or performer, but you do need a passion for the arts and creativity. You will need to be happy to express your opinions in a group, but equally be a good listener and respectful of people who may have different views. We are looking for people aged between 16 and 25 on 1st March 2016. We hope you will be involved for two years: the first to learn the ropes, the second to take the lead. There will be about six meetings a year.
As the first festival is in Newport, many of the meetings will be at the Riverfront, Newport. However, we want all parts of Wales to be represented. We will work with successful candidates to look at transport options. Sometimes we can meet at Venue Cymru, Llandudno. We will aim for dates and times that suit young people: probably evenings, weekends or during the day in school holidays.
We will gather together as many of you as possible on Saturday 2nd April at the Riverfront, Newport, as part of BBC Wales Get Creative day. How will we chose young people to be in the groups? We are asking organisations to recommend young people who will enjoy being involved and be able to contribute well. To work effectively, the groups need to be quite small. We will aim to make sure groups include: different genders, Welsh speakers, disabled young people, geographical spread across Wales including disadvantaged areas, young people from minority groups. We also want to cover as many art-forms as possible: dance, art, drama, film, circus, music etc. as well as people passionate about the arts but more comfortable backstage and running things.
