TheSprout Meets Sleeping Beauty Stars
It's that time of year again; summer fades into autumn, daylight begins to shrink and, for some at least, the annual count down to Christmas begins.
This was certainly the case for TheSprout last week as we headed down to the New Theatre, armed with a camera and some questions, to meet the stars of this year's pantomime, Sleeping Beauty.
The show is set to be a sell-out success and TheSprout will be there to give you a full verdict on the production itself when it opens in December. But to whet your appetite, we'll serve up some insights into living in the world of show business and the bubble of panto from some of our country's best performers.
You see, over the course of a few hours, we bagged interviews with the three leading cast members, Joe Pasquale, Ceri Dupree and Lucy Evans as well as quizzing executive producer Michael Harrison on his pantomime experiences and catching a glimpse of the performers in full costume. The three leading names have performed in Sleeping Beauty for the past four years and so had plenty to say about the show and their fellow actors; comedian, television presenter, former King of the Jungle Joe Pasquale plays cheeky chappie Muddles, Wales' legendary dame Ceri Dupree is Queen Passionella whilst Coronation Street's Lucy Evans takes the role as Princess Beauty.
All three proved to be lovely, interesting folk and their interviews will be published here over the next few weeks for your reading pleasure. Keep your eyes peeled our way kids...
