The Big Weekend Is Back
Yep, it's that time of year again. Eating ice-cream in the sun, seeing good bands and artists play (anybody remember Jimmy Cliff last year? Cerys Matthews the year before?) and riding all of those white-knuckle fairground rides that you really loved as a kid.
The Big Weekend, hosted by Admiral Insurance, is one of the largest - and probably best - free festivals out there. It's hitting Cardiff this weekend, with all the preparations now underway around City Hall to get the stage set.
English geek-rock group The Young Knives are playing Sunday evening before Irish rockers Ash (Girl From Mars, anybody?) take to the stage as the headlining band.
As well as the bands and the fairground rides, the MAS Carnival will finish their parade there, complete with their impressive flamboyant costumes and masks, arriving on the City Hall Lawns at 1.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
The only possibly downside to the Big Weekend could be the weather, so remember to pack your anorak or brolly with your sunscreen lotion!
