News: Gareth Thomas To Star In Pantomime
Shocked? Surprised? Delighted?
The New Theatre has announced that rugby hero Gareth Thomas will be starring in this year’s pantomime Cinderella as Dandini.
Thomas, lovingly known by the Welsh public as ‘Alfie’, made 100 test match appearances for Wales in his illustrious sporting career; he is currently ranked 12th among international try scorers and is the second highest Wales try scorer behind Shane Williams.
Now, after a TV appearance on ITV’s Dancing on Ice, Thomas has sent waves around the Welsh capital and has surely made Cinderella a must see for his fans across the country. He is set to join Lee Mead and Linda Lusardi for the show, which runs between 13th December and 18th January in Cardiff’s New Theatre.
In a status on their Facebook page, the New Theatre said:
“We have been dying to tell you for ages and finally now's the time we can reveal that Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas will be playing Dandini in this year's Cinderella pantomime.”
In 2009, Thomas announced that he was gay and he received Stonewall’s Hero of the Year award in October 2010. He is considered as an excellent role model for young LGBT people and is an active supporter of Childline.
I wonder if the ayatollah will feature in his performance?

This is amazing! I'm gonna pick 'delighted' from your three options!
