Life Lessons
It's not a lesson
nor a game.
It's not a race
for wealth and fame.
It's my move,
a happening, a choice.
A cry for help
so you'll hear my voice
These echoes and cries
won’t be drowned out by sorrow.
They’re stifled and silenced
then forgotten tomorrow.
This attention is dreary,
dried out and dull.
I've forgotten the reason
I want some push
not a pull!
It's not a lesson,
nor a game.
It's not a race
for wealth and fame.
I want some excitement
make me laugh, make me smile.
Then cease all emotion-
at least for a while.
We've seen the present
and spent all our time
and I'm tired of the guilt,
sadness and crime.
I've taught the lesson
and played the game
I've ran the race
and taken your fame...
