Belief System
A Darwinian at heart,
Can feel the ape in my blood,
But I understand the difference,
Between what’s bad and what’s good.
Evolved from a cell,
Not devolved from above,
I believe in Mother Nature,
And a thing called love.
We’re animals here,
To find a mate,
And duplicate,
Before it’s too late,
Your scriptures they,
Impersonate,
The truth,
Which can seem second-rate;
On earth we can only smile and wait,
For our ever-nearing use-by date,
For sure it’s always up for debate,
But with or without your holy fate,
life is ours to celebrate.
I am not in opposition,
To the principles of religion,
But man’s words, man’s traditions,
Are lost as superstitions,
With your praise of sky magicians.
Your god may be mighty,
In him your faith entrust,
But I’m strong as a human,
Who knows his destiny is dust.
My story has no guarantee.
Live it.
Believe in reality.

Tommy has done it again!
You're really fantastic at creative writing, so don't give it up (but don't give up the articles or new experiences either, because they're great too)
I find that I can relate fantastically to your poems/middle-class raps, so you're probably doing something right!
I heard a good quote about religion once, it was "Religion is for people who believe in Hell, spirituality is for those who have been there". It's a pretty good quote.

Tommy. Don't be alarmed, but... I think I might love you! haha!
That was so good my friend! Really top notch. I wish I could announce my disbelief in religion without being offensive, but I can't so I'm just gonna stop now, before I do go off on one!
An amazing poem my friend! Really very good! =)
