Motorpoint Arena? Anyone?

  • Motorpoint Arena

Whilst walking around town, I found myself asking, "When did the CIA change its name to the Motorpoint Arena?".

I'm sure locals will still keep calling it the original name. I was asked the other week, "Where is the CIA?". I gladly gave them the directions, but to help them more so told them a change over in name had come about. I assume it is some corporate buyout?

The name may change, but I doubt this will have much impact...

The fact that it still says "Cardiff International Arena" on it, too, doesn't help.

It's exactly what you think. Motorpoint (a motor company, if I'm not mistaken) bought the naming rights to it for five years. After five years I think it returns to CIA.

Got something to say?
