Discovery Visit Day for young people with Asperger Syndrome @ Cardiff University
Cardiff University runs a number of events throughout the year for young people with Asperger syndrome. The first event of 2013 will be the Discovery Visit Day on Wednesday 6th February.
The aim of the day is to encourage young people with ASD to consider university, and to help them prepare for the transition. Attendees of the day will also be invited to the summer school in July.
10.00 – 10.15 Registration – Council Chamber
10.15 – 11.00 Welcome and Talk: Introduction to University (applying and accommodation) – Council Chamber
11.00 – 11.15 Coffee Break + Q&A session – Council Chamber
11.15 – 12.15 Support at Cardiff University – Council Chamber
12.15 – 13.00 Lunch (simple buffet lunch provided) – VJ Gallery
13.00 – 14.30 Tours of campus and one academic school of your choice (please notify the staff of your subject area of interest beforehand) – Various locations
14.30 – 15.30 General Information Session & Close – Council Chamber
If you are interested in attending, you can book a place online via https://www.surveys.cardiff.ac.uk/discoveryvd2013. Whilst the day is primarily aimed at 14-19 year olds with ASD, it is open to anyone who would potentially benefit from attending.
